I have shot a lot of elopements here at Dunluce Castle and let me tell you, IT NEVER GETS OLD! It honestly blows my mind every-time I go there. I love taking couples here to experience it for the first time.

Northern Ireland does have an insane amount of stunning landscape to explore and exchange your vows in, but there is something so magical about Dunluce Castle, that rugged cliff edge and listening to the waves crash below. The best part is, there are some incredible locations nearby that very few people have any idea about. The views are unreal and not a tourist in sight. How does that sound?

“I WANTED PRIVACY”

I don’t know about you, but when I and my husband eloped, I really did not want tourists around us, watching and snapping photos. I wanted privacy which is one of the reasons we wanted to elope. So, for my couples, I work hard to find those secluded locations for you! Because let’s face it, who wants 20 people you have never met watching you exchange your vows to each other?

THE COST OF ELOPEING AT DUNLUCE CASTLE

It is quite easy to elope here. The field is owned by a farmer ( I know, can you imagine owning that field ) he is very kind and allows wedding ceremonies to take place here for a small fee of £350 Which is totally worth it. It will mean you will have this view all to yourselves, there will be no chance of another wedding taking place at the same time.

WHERE TO STAY FOR YOUR DUNLUCE CASTLE ELOPEMENT?

There are so many unique and wonderful air b&bs on the north coast near Dunluce Castle. Some of these places will provide you with an experience that a hotel cant give you. I have a list of amazing places for your stay, not only will you love the uniqueness of these locations, but they will also be perfect for your getting ready images. 

CAN I BRING GUESTS TO MY DUNLUCE CASTLE ELOPEMENT?

Yes, absolutely.  If you are hoping to have your ceremony on the cliff edge, then I would limit the number to around for safety reasons. Unless you plan to have your ceremony in the field, then you could bring along 20-25 guests.

ARE THERE OTHER LOCATIONS TO EXPLORE NEAR DUNLUCE CASTLE

One of the best parts about eloping at Dunluce Castle is the endless locations nearby! Dunluce Castle is located on the North Coast of Northern Ireland, the area surrounding is full of unique and endless beauty. From, castle ruins, the Giants Causeway, the dark hedges, Dunseverick Castle, to name a few. As well as Northern Ireland’s most stunning beaches. There are honestly so many to choose from, no matter which locations you choose to explore on your Ireland Elopement, you won’t be disappointed. WHEN IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO ELOPE AT DUNLUCE CASTLE

This all depends on what you are after. If you are hoping for some sunset shots, then I would suggest from April to October. For a more quiet time, the best months would be May, June, and September as July and August are very popular months.

 DUNLUCE CASTLE ELOPEMENT TIPS

1. Plan your ceremony for late in the afternoon. The light is best when the sun is low in the sky.  If you are eloping in the summertime, keep in mind, here in Ireland, the sun sets a lot later.
2. Wear comfortable shoes, as you will be walking through some fields and may come across some muddy patches, especially during the winter months.
3. Make sure to have the field booked with the farmer. This is private land and you can not access it without his permission. This is something I can organise for you.
4. Bring a picnic so you don’t get hungry during your elopement. This means you won’t need to rush away from your day and miss the sunset for those incredible

A Dunluce Castle Elopement Northern Ireland with Jason and Alexandra

Jason and Alexandra flew all the way from the States to elope on the North Coast of Ireland with the stunning Dunluce Castle ruin as their backdrop. These guys were such an adventurous pair, we had to jump over a few walls, walk through some muddy fields and climb through some barbed wire, yes, barbed wire to get to the perfect spot to say their vows. That’s my kinda couple, the adventurous souls. The sun even made an appearance after such a rainy week 🙂
