When Kailee and Kavan first contacted me about their plans to elope on the north coast of Ireland, I knew it was going to be a sweet adventure. Dunseverick Castle as the perfect backdrop for their Ireland elopement
Kailee and Kavan travelled all the way from Canada to tie the knot in an intimate ceremony at Dunseverick Castle. The castle, which dates back to the 6th century, sits perched on the rugged cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, providing the perfect backdrop for their elopement. You couldn’t get any better than that. Not only does it have one of the most stunning backdrops along the north coast, its situated close to so many incredible locations you can explore afterwards with equally stunning backdrops.
Kailee and Kavan’s plan to travel Ireland and Scotland for years
Kailee and Kavan had been planning on travelling Ireland and Scotland for the past couple of years, but then COVID-19 prevented that from happening until recently. They had always talked about eloping and how amazing an adventure that could be. So, when they sat down to start planning their trip, the conversation got brought up, and they decided they really wanted to make it happen. A couple of Google searches later, and they found my website. Kailee’s father is from Belfast, and Kavan also has family ties to Ireland. It honestly just seemed like it was meant to be. They wanted it to be simple, just the two of them.
They exchanged their vows in the seclusion
As we walked down the rugged path with the ancient ruins in view, I could see the excitement and anticipation in their eyes to finally see see Dunseverick for the first time in person. That is one of my favourite parts of this job, seeing my couples see their location for the first time is so fun 🙂 The location was empty, save for the few tourists who had arrived early, and the seclusion provided the perfect setting for Kailee and Kavan to exchange their vows.
